Northern Minnesota forests, Lakota territory. Lucky Luke is tasked by Mr. Cramp, head of the massive Cramp Company, with finding his nephew, who was allegedly kidnapped at birth by the Bluefeet tribe. 80 pages. French.
Luke finds the child—now 10 years old, named Red Cloud and the adopted son of Chief Wooden Spear—but quickly realizes that Cramp is actually seeking to eliminate this heir and rival in order to fully seize the family business. The cowboy immediately flees toward Canada with Red Cloud, whose life is now in danger, and begins a long and perilous trek through icy forests, hungry wolves, and four fearsome desperados sent by Cramp. Already successfully established in the world of Lucky Luke, Matthieu Bonhomme renovates the genre by playing with the series' well-known characters as well as others inspired by current events, while further elevating his graphic virtuosity. He delivers a grand Western that brilliantly blends the purest tradition of adventure with a tender, funny, and socially conscious perspective.
