Pablo Picasso was a Spanish painter, printmaker, and sculptor, and is one of the most famous artists of the 20th century. The abstract painting of a woman's face with a hat depicted on this cup is one of his diverse artistic expressions. The straw hat, which can be seen in the painting in the middle of winter, indicates that the sunny weather associated with it was a symbol for Picasso of his happy and fulfilled relationship with his last great muse Jacqueline, whom he had married the previous March. It dates from 1962 and is thus one of Picasso's late works. Bring a piece of art history home.
