XIII is a Belgian comic book series, originally drawn by William Vance and written by Jean Van Hamme.
First published in 1984 with the album The Day of the Black Sun, the series is a thriller set in the United States, centered on a hunted amnesiac in search of his identity. The original creators concluded the series with the nineteenth album, The Last Round, published in 2007. Only one album in this first cycle was not drawn by Vance: The Irish Version (2007), which was illustrated by Jean Giraud.
A second cycle began with The Day of the Mayflower, published in 2011. These new volumes are written by Yves Sente and drawn by Iouri Jigounov.
